Musamariakazi, Yesu yaramubwiye

Ati: Mp’ utuzi nyweho, naw’ aramusubiza;

Byashoboka bite se, ngo mbe naguh’ amazi?

/: Kandi k’ ur’ Umuyuda nkab’ Umusamariya?

Nguk’ uko yatangaye.: /

(The Samaritan woman, Jesus told her)

(Saying: Give me some water to drink, and she answered Him;)

(How is it possible, that I should give You water?)

(/: Since You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan?)

(That is how she was amazed.: /)

Umuntu wes’ uzanywa ayo mazi nzamuha,

Nta bw’ azagir’ inyota. kugez’ iteka ryose

Kukw ayo maz’ ariyo yamanutse mw ijuru

/: Azamuhindukira isokw idudubiza,

Muri w’ iteka ryose.: /

(Everyone who drinks this water I will give them,)

(Will never thirst, until eternity)

(Because that water is what came down from heaven)

(/: It will become in them a spring bubbling up,)

(For all eternity.: /)

Umpe kur’ayo mazi y’ ubugingo bw’ iteka,

Amar’ inyota mfite, sinzongere kuvoma

Yesu yumva

ningoga uwo Musamaria

/: Ngwino kukw iyo mpano ituruka mw ijuru

Wayi habg’ uyu munsi.: /

(Give me that water of eternal life,)

(To quench the thirst I have, so I never draw again)

(Jesus heard)

(quickly that Samaritan woman)

(/: Come because this gift comes from heaven)

(You may have it today.: /)

Iy’ usobanukirwa igikorwa cy’ Imana,

Ukameny’ ugusabye ayo mazi yo kunywa,

Naw’ uba wamusabye, akaguh’ ayo mazi

/: Amazi y’ ubugingo ntabw’ aba mur’ iyi si

Abantu batuyemo.: /

(If you understood the work of God,)

(And knew the one asking you for water to drink,)

(You would have asked Him, and He would give you that water)

(/: The water of life is not in this world)

(Where people live.: /)
