Nahaw’ ubugingo buhoraho rwose

Kand’ ubwo bugingo ni Yesu

N’ ukuri yinjiye mu mutima wanjye

Kandi yanshyizemw ubutwari

Nejejwe n’ Imana mu mutima wanjye

N’ umuriro w’ ijur’ urimo

Nsigaye ngendera mu mucyo w’ ukuri

Yesu Mukiza ni we mucyo

(I have been given eternal life)

(And that life is Jesus)

(Truly He has entered my heart)

(And He has put courage in me)

(I am made joyful by God in my heart)

(The fire of heaven is burning within)

(I now walk in the light of truth)

(Jesus the Savior is the light)

Imigisha yo mu gakiza k’ Imana

Kubw’ ubuntu narayihawe

Nayihawe mu gihe nihanny’ ibyaha

Imbere y ‘ Umukiza Yesu

(The blessings of God's salvation)

(By grace I have received them)

(I received them when I repented of sin)

(Before Jesus the Savior)

Umukiza ni we wankuye mu ishyamba

Nsigaye mba mu murima we

No kubw’ imvura n’ izuba byo mw ijuru

Nshobora kwer’ imbut’ ashaka

(The Savior is the one who took me out of the forest)

(Now I dwell in His garden)

(And through the rain and sun from heaven)

(I am able to bear the fruit He desires)

Ubugingo bwiza nahisemo n’ ubu:

Gukorer’ Umukiza Yesu

Kubaho ni Kristo no gupfa n’ inyungu

Ku Mu kristo wese w’ ukuri

(The good life I have chosen is this:)

(To serve Jesus the Savior)

(To live is Christ and to die is gain)

(For every true Christian)
