Ba bakobga cumi biteguye Kujya gusanganira wa mukwe(Ten virgins prepared to go meet the bridegroom)

bari bajyany’ amatara yabo, Ngw abamurikire mu mwijima(They were carrying their lamps, to give them light in the darkness)

Abatanu bar’ abanyabgenge, Bujuj’ amavuta mu mperezo,(Five were wise, they filled their vessels with oil,)

Nahw abandi batanu b’ abapfu mu mperezo zabo hari humye(But the other five were foolish, in their vessels there was no oil)
