Ai Mana y’ ukuri,

komeza kunyobora,

Uranshishe mu nzira yo gukor’ iby’ ushaka

Mwami kubaho ntagufite

Binter’ ubwoba n’ amaganya

Ndetse byabasha kungeza no mu rupfu vuba

(O God of truth,)

(continue to guide me,)

(Lead me in the way of doing Your will)

(Lord, living without You)

(Brings fear and worries)

(They could even bring me quickly to death)

Kwizer’ Umwami Yesu

No guhora ngendera mu nzira ye ntunganye

Nawe yemeye kujy’ andinda,

Ndetse no ku nyobora neza

Ampesha no kwinjira vuba mu mahoro ye

(The good I see is this:)

(To believe in the Lord Jesus)

(And to always walk in His straight path)

(And He agreed to protect me,)

(And also to guide me well)

(He enables me to enter quickly into His peace)

Ub’ urugendo mfite

n’ urwo kujya mw’ ijuru

Umukiza niy’ ari nanjye nkwiye kujyayo

Kand’ umunsi nzaba ngezeyo

Nzamuhimbazany’ ibyishimo

Nzanezezwa nuko ari we wanguz’ amaraso

(The journey I have)

(is that of going to heaven)

(If the Savior is there, I too should go there)

(And the day I arrive there)

(I will worship Him with joy)

(I will rejoice that He is the One who bought me with blood)

Mur’ iyi si huzuy’ umuruho n’ amahane

Icyo nkeneye cyose simperako nkibona

Ariko ku munsi mukuru

Ubwo nzabon’ Umucunguzi

Niringiye kuzabon’ ingororano yanjye

(In this world there is toil and suffering)

(All that I need I cannot always get)

(But on that great day)

(When I see the Redeemer)

(I trust I will receive my reward)

(In heaven I will not see)
