Ngwino nkuruhure
Zana ibyo bikuruhije,
Mbikwikorerere !
Musang’ uko nari nd’ uko ,
Ndushye mfite ishavu;
Ambera uburuhukiro,
Amp’ umunezero
(I heard Jesus tell me:)
(Come, I will give you rest)
(Bring those things that burden you,)
(I will carry them for you!)
(I came to Him as I was,)
(Weary and full of bitterness;)
(He became my resting place,)
(He gave me joy)

Nguherey’ ubuntu
Amaz’ azan’ ubugingo,
Unyw’ uram’ iteka
Njy’ ahw ari, nywa nezerewe
kuri ayo mazi ye,
umutima ushira inyota,
Mpabga ubugingo bwe
(I heard Jesus tell me:)
(I give you grace freely)
(Then He brought life,)
(Drink and live forever)
(I went to Him, I drank joyfully)
(Of that water of His,)
(My heart that was thirsty,)
(He gave me His life)

wavukiye mu isi,
wavukiye mu mwijima,
Ngwin’ umurikirwe
Ndebye kuri Yesu mbona
kw ari izuba ryanjye
Rizamvira iminsi yose
Y’ ubugingo bwanjye

(I am the light of the world)
(You were born in this world,)
(You were born in darkness,)
(Come and be enlightened)
(I look to Jesus and see)
(That He is my sun)
(It will shine for me all the days)
