Kuko yanesheje

(He who once wore a crown)

(Pierced with thorns)

(Now wears a crown of glory)

(Because He has conquered)

Ategeka byose,

Ari we Mwami w’ abami

N’ umucy’ udashira

(Now He sits in heaven,)

(Ruling over all,)

(He is the King of kings)

(And the light that never fades)

Yatwerets’ urukundo rwe,

(He is our joy)

(And the joy of those in heaven:)

(He showed us His love,)

(When He was crucified)
