Yesu, ko wankunze, bigatum’ umfira
None nakwim’ iki ? Ndakwihay’ubu,
Umutima wanjye n’ ibyo mfite byose
Non’ ubyiharire: sinkir’uwanjye
(Jesus, that You loved me overwhelms me)
(What can I give You now? I surrender,)
(My heart and all I have)
(Now possess them: I'm no longer mine)
Uhagaz’imbere y’ intebe y’ ubuntu,
Itek’umvugira k’Uwiteka, So
Mwam’ ujy’ unshoboza, ntwar’umusaraba
Nkwize n’ imbabazi z’ Uwanshunguye
(You stand before the throne of mercy,)
(Forever interceding to the Father,)
(Lord, enable me to take the cross)
(With the grace of Him who saved me)
Mwami, ndakwinginga: umpe gusa nawe:
Mpa kugushimisha, kand’unyigishe
Nige kugukunda;
nige kukumvira,
Nshak’ abazimiye, mbakugezeho!
(Lord, I plead with You: give me Yourself:)
(Grant me to glorify You, and teach me)
(To learn to love You;)
(to learn to obey You,)
(Seek the lost, and bring them to You!)
