Yandikishij’ iby’ urukundo rwe;(Has written down His love for me;)

Mu byiz’ Imana yavuze byose,(Of all the good things God has spoken,)

Nta kirut’ iki, ko Yesu ankunda(Nothing surpasses this, that Jesus loves me)

Nishimiye ko Yes’ ankunda:(I rejoice that Jesus loves me:)

Ntareka kunkunda ntakwiriye;(He doesn't stop loving unworthy me;)

Kand’ ikinsubiz’ aho Yes’ ari(And what comforts me where Jesus is)

Cyane n’ ukwibuk’ urukundo rwe(Is simply remembering His great love)

Yesu, n’iki cyakunkundishije ?(Jesus, what made You love me so?)

Yesu kunshunguz’ urupfu rubi(Jesus to save me from terrible death)

Kokw arankunda, ndabizi neza:(For He loves me, I know it well:)

Nanjye ndamukunda, ndamushima(I also love Him, I praise Him)
