Yesu yahoze mw ijuru,

Ar’ i buryo bw’ Uwiteka,

Ni yo Man’ isumba byose

(From the beginning of time,)

(Jesus was in heaven,)

(In the form of the Lord,)

(He is God above all)

Maz’ urukundo rwe rwinshi

Rwamuzanye mur’ iyi si,

Avuka nk’ abandi bantu,

(Then His great love)

(Brought Him to this earth,)

(Born like other people,)

(Jesus was never weary)

(He taught the poor)

(Of the love of God)

(And of eternal salvation)

Kumwic’ urupfu rubi pe

(Then very evil people)

(Rejected what He said)

(Filled with great jealousy)

(To kill Him with cruel death)

Yabambishijw’ imbereri

Kubgacu, ku Musaraba;

Batoboy’ ibiganza bye ;

Byakirishag’ imbabazi

(He was crucified with a crown of thorns)

(For us, on the Cross;)

(They pierced His hands;)

(Which had shown mercy)

Kubw’ urukundo rwe rwinshi

(See how He died for us,)

Ntiyabura kumwakira

Yarabisezerany’ ati:

Sinzamuheza na hato

(And whoever comes trusting in Him;)

(He never fails to receive them)

(He promised saying:)

(I will not cast them out at all)
