Nshimy’ Umuremy’ Uhoraho

Wahanits’ ijuru,

Inyanj’ akazidendeza;

Yiremeye byose

Yashyizeho n’ izuba rye

kumurika k’ umunsi,

N’ ukwezi n’ inyenyeri bye

Byo kwaka n’ ijoro

(I praise the eternal Creator)

(Who made heaven,)

(The seas He measured out;)

(He created all things)

(He set up His sun)

(To give light by day,)

(And His moon and stars)

(To shine by night)

Mmushime ko yategetse

Imyaka ngw imere;

Yaremeshej’ ijambo rye

Ibizima byose

Nitegerez’ ibyiza bye

Ku mpande zos’ iteka,

Hano hasi no hejuru;

Ntabgo bihinyuka

(I praise Him who commanded)

(The years to come forth;)

(By His word He created)

(All living things)

(I consider His goodness)

(Everywhere forever,)

(Here below and above;)

(They never change)

Mw isi nta kintu kiriho

kiterekan’ ibye

Ni We wenyin’ utegeka

Izuba n’ imvura

Imana ni Y’ ibeshaho

Twe n’ inyamaswa zose

Nta hantu twayihungira,

Nta na hw itagera

(In the world there is nothing alive)

(That does not show His works)

(It is He alone who commands)

(The sun and the rain)

(God is above)

(Us and all animals)

(There is no place we could flee from Him,)

(Nor any place He does not reach)
