Mwen’ Imana yizerwa,

Waterwa n’ ubwoba ?

Mbega, ntiwatorewe

Umwam’ ugukunda ?

Ng’ umeny’ Uwagutoye,

Uce mu nzira ye, U

nyuz’ ikirenge mu cye

Kukw ari we Shobuja

(Child of the faithful God,)

(Why are you afraid?)

(Surely, have you not been chosen)

(By a Lord who loves you?)

(As you know the One who chose you,)

(Walk in His way, and)

(Trust your footsteps to His path)

(For He is the Almighty One)

N’ ubabara, wibgire

Kw akubabarira;

Ni hagir’ ugutuka,

Umubabarire;

Wizigir’ ugukunda:

Shikama kigabo,

Ng’ uzatsind’ abanzi bawe,

Uberek’ urukundo

(When you are hurt, confess)

(That He will forgive you;)

(When you are angry, turn around,)

(And forgive them too;)

(Trust yourself to His love:)

(Be calm and strong,)

(So you will overcome your enemies,)

(And display His love)

N’ ubon’ ibiruhanya,

Ukumva k’ utsinzwe,

We kugir’ agahinda,

Meny’ ibigufasha;

Ngibi: senga, wizere;

Komeza gusenga ;

Maz’ ureb’ Umusaraba

W’ Umwana w’ Uwiteka

(When you see difficulties,)

(And feel overcome,)

(Don't give in to sorrow,)

(Know what will help you;)

(This: pray, and believe;)

(Keep on praying still;)

(Then behold the Cross)

(Of the Son of the Lord Most High)
