Nkukw ishak’ amazi,(As it longs for streams so clear,)

Mana ni ko njya nkwifuza(God, so do I long for You)

Ng’ umpemburish’ ubuntu(To pour Your goodness over me)

Ni Wowe Man’ ihorabo,(You alone are God eternal,)

Maz’ amar’ inyota;(You can quench my thirst;)

Ni ryari nzakwirebera,(When shall I behold Your face,)

Mu maso, Mucunguzi ?(With my eyes, O my Redeemer?)

Mutima wanjy’ uhagaze(Why are you downcast, O my soul?)

Ubabajwe n’ iki ?(What troubles you within?)

Wiringir’ Itazabura(Put your hope in the Unfailing One)

Gukiz’ uwihanganye(To save all who endure)

Uwifuz’ Imana wese(Whoever desires God alone)

Imuhaz’ ibyiza,(Will receive good things from Him,)

Nuko nizere, nishime,(So trust, and be joyful,)
