Yesu yatwis’ amatabaza ye

Yo kumurikir’ abo mu mwijima

Tubamurikishiriz’ umucyo we,

Tubamurikishiriz’ ingeso

(Jesus gave us His lamps)

(To shine for those in darkness)

(Let's shine for them His light,)

(Let's shine for them in conduct)

Tur’ amatabaza ya Kristo,

Yifuza kureb’ uko tumurika;

Kand’ iyo tuzimy’ ababara cyane:

Noneho, bagenzi, tumurike !

(We are Christ's lamps,)

(He desires to see how we shine;)

(For when we shine, they greatly rejoice:)

(Now then, friends, let us shine!)

Arashaka kw abandi bareba

Kumurika kwacu, bakayoboka

Tumurikir’ ab’ i wacu n’ ahandi,

Dushimishe Databuja, Yesu,

(He wants others to see)

(Our shining, and obey)

(Let's shine in our homes and elsewhere,)

(Let's please our Father, Jesus,)

Ni dushaka kumurika dutyo,

Twizer’ Umukiza wadupfiriye,

Tumusab’ Umwuka Wer’ atunganye

Imitima yacu: tumurike !

(We want to shine this way,)

(Trusting the Savior who died for us,)

(May we ask the Holy Spirit to cleanse)

(Our hearts: let us shine!)
