Ubwo nzamar’ imirimo ngo nsezere kw’ isi,
Umugezi witw’ Urupfunywambutse,
Ni ho nzagera mw Ijuru,
nsang’ Uwamfiriye:
Azanyakiran’ ubuntu n’ineza
Nzamumenya, nzamumenya
Nzaba mpagaz’ imbere Ye, nnyuzwe
Nzamumenya, nzamumenya ;
Mbony’ inkovu zo mu biganza bye
(When I finish my work here on earth,)
(And cross the river called Death,)
(Then I will arrive in Heaven,)
