Mbese, tuzahurirayo,

Kuri wa mugezi mwiza

Uca mw ijuru hagati,

Uv’ i bwami ku Mana yacu ?

Koko tuzahurirayo,

Tubonane n’ abera ku mugezi,

Ku mugez’ utunganye w’ Imana

Uv’ i bgami ku Mana yacu

(Shall we gather there,)

(By that beautiful river)

(That flows through heaven's midst,)

(Coming from God's kingdom?)

(Yes, we shall gather there,)

(Meeting with the saints by the river,)

(By God's glorious river)

(Coming from God's kingdom)

Tuzagendana ku nkombe

Y’ umugezi w’ ubugingo

Tuzasengan’ Uwiteka,

Tuyisingiz’ iteka ryose

(We will walk along the banks)

(Of the river of life)

(We will worship the Lord,)

(Praising Him forevermore)

Nuko, tutarabagera,

Duturw’ imitwaro yose,

Dukizwe n’ ubuntu bwayo:

Izatwambik’ imyenda yera

(So, before we arrive there,)

(Let us lay down all burdens,)

(Saved by its grace:)

(It will clothe us in white garments)

Tuzahurira n’ abera

Ku mugez’ ubonerana;

Nta kizadutandukanya

Kuk’ urupfu rutagerayo

(We shall meet with the saints)

(By the river of meeting;)

(Nothing will separate us)

(For death does not reach there)

Nuko, tuzagera vuba

Kur’ uwo mugezi mwiza,

Turirimbane n’ abaho

Indirimbo zishimishije

(So, we shall soon arrive)

(At that beautiful river,)

(Singing together with those there)

(Joyful songs)
