Ku rurembo rwa Dawid’ Umwami,(In the lineage of King David,)

Kera harih’ uruhongore;(Long ago there was a stable;)

Umwan’ ahabikirwa na nyina(A child was laid there by His mother)

Mu muvure w’inka warimo(In the cattle trough within)

Uwo mwana ni we Yesu,(That child is Jesus,)

Kandi nyina yitwaga Mariya(And His mother was named Mary)

Yaje mw is’ asig’ iWe mw’ ijuru,(He came to earth leaving His home in heaven,)

Bamuraza mu ruhongore;(They placed Him in a stable;)

Kand’ uburiri bwar’ umuvure,(And His bed was a trough,)

Nubwo yar’ Umwami wa bose(Though He was the Lord of all)

Umukiza wacu wera(Our true Savior)

Yabanye n’ aboroheje nka twe(Dwelt with the humble like us)

Kand’ akir’ umwana, yubahaga(And as a child, He honored)

Ababyey ‘akabakorera;(His parents and served them;)

Yabagandukiye muri byose;(He obeyed them in all things;)

Yabakundaga bihebuje,(He loved them wonderfully,)

Natwe, nubwo tur’ abana,(We too, though we are children,)

Tumere nka Yes’ uko yar’ ari(Should grow like Jesus was)

Yatubereye nk’ uworoheje,(He appeared to us as humble,)

Kand’ ari we Nyir’ imbaraga !(Yet He is the Almighty!)

Yarakuraga nk’ abandi bana:(He grew up like other children:)

N’ icyitegererezo cyacu(Our example)

We yababaranye natwe;(He suffered with us;)

Bituma tunezeranwa na We(This gives us hope in Him)

Uwo Mwana mwiza wo gukundwa(That beloved beautiful Child)

None ni W’ utegeka byose !(Now is the One who rules all!)

Azagaruka, twe tumubone,(He will return, that we may see Him,)

Yes’ Umwami n’ Umucunguzi(Jesus the Lord and Redeemer)

Kand’ ashorera tw’ abana(And He will lead us children)

Ngw’ atugeze mw ijuru, tubane(To take us to heaven, to dwell together)

Azaboneker’ abamukunda,(He will appear to those who love Him,)

Atakiri mu ruhongore;(No longer in the stable;)

Azab’ ari mw’ ijuru ku ngoma,(He will be in heaven on the throne,)

I buryo bg’ Iman’ ihoraho:(At God's right hand eternal:)

Tuzamwikubit’ imbere,(We will kneel before Him,)

Tumusingizany’ iteka ryose(Praising Him forevermore)
