Inkuru nziza yavuye mw ijuru
Yazanywe no kuduhumuriza;
Igaragazwa n’ Umwami w’ urukundo
Wavukiy’ abanyabyaha bose
(Good news came from heaven)
(Brought to comfort us;)
(Revealed by the Lord of love)
(Who was born for all sinners)
Uwo wa muhanuzi yahanuye,
Akamubwiririz’ amahoro,
N’ Umwami Yesu watuvukiye twese:
Tumuririmbire n’ iri joro !
(This is what the prophet prophesied,)
(Proclaiming peace to Him,)
(And Lord Jesus was born for us all:)
(Let us sing to Him this night!)
Ajy’ adutera kwiringira rwose,
Adusezeranir’ amahoro,
N’ abafit’ imtim, ihagaz’ iganya,
Abibuka ngw abah’ ubugingo
(He comes to give us hope completely,)
(He promises us peace,)
(And those with hearts standing firm,)
(Remember like those who have life)
Dushinie twes’ Umucunguzi wacu
Kw atadutinye tw’ abanyabyaha!
Kand’ubuntu bwe budukomeza mw isi
Tumwitabish’ imitim’ ikunze;
(Let us praise our Redeemer)
(For not fearing us as sinners!)
(And His kindness strengthens us on earth)
(Let us offer Him loving hearts;)
