Y’ ingabo zo mw ijuru, zishima, ziti:
Noel! Noel! Noel ! Noel!
Havuts’ Umwami w’ lsirayeli !
(Long ago there were shepherds in a holy land,)
(They heard the good news that Jesus was born)
(On the hillside at night, they heard many voices)
(Of the armies from heaven, rejoicing, saying:)
(Noel! Noel! Noel! Noel!)
(The King of Israel is born!)
Mu gihugu cya kure, har’ abanyabwenge
Bahishurirw’ ikintu cyabatangaje
Babony’ ikimenyetso cy’ inyenyeri nini,
Kibarangir’ aho Yesu yavukiye
(In a country far away, there were wise men)
(Who were shown something amazing)
(They saw the sign of a great star,)
(Showing them where Jesus was born)
Nukw Iman’ iberetse k’ Umukiza yaje,
Bajy’ ahw ar’ uwo mwanya ngo bamusenge
Baramupfukamira, bamutur’ ibyiza:
By’ izahabu n’ icyome n’ ishangi na yo
(And so God kept His word that a Savior came,)
(They went to where He was at that time to worship Him)
(They bowed down to Him, they gave Him gifts:)
(Of gold and incense and myrrh as well)
Natwe tumusang’ ubu; n’ Umukiza wacu;
Yaj’ aciye bugufi kubwac’ ababi
Nyuma, ku Musaraba, yaradupfiriye,
Aduhongerera ngo tutarimbuka
(Now we also find Him; He is our Savior;)
(He came living humbly for our sake as sinners)
(Later, on the Cross, He died for us,)
(Interceding that we should not perish)
Nuko, umushimire ko yatuvukiye,
Tumutur’ imitima yac’ imenetse
Uyu munsi wa none, yonger’ avukire
Mu mitima ya benshi, bamushimishe
(So, let us praise Him for being born for us,)
(Let us give Him our sincere hearts)
(This very day, may He be born again)
(In the hearts of many, may they rejoice in Him)
