Gushimisha · 7 verses
Kuri wa munsi tuzazukaho,
Yes’ azaduh’ imibiri mishya;
Kurira no kuboroga
Ntabgo bizaba bikiriho
(On that day we shall rise,)
(Jesus will give us new bodies;)
(Weeping and groaning)
(Will no longer exist)
Ubu bugingo n’ uyu mubiri
Ntabgo byabura gutandukana
None, mubiri, sinzira,
Urindir’ uwo munsi mwiza
(This life and this body)
(Must eventually separate)
(Now, body, do not sleep,)
(Wait for that beautiful day)
Uyu mubiri waruhanyaga
Ni wo turambItse mu butaka;
Nuk’ ubugingo bgonyine
Bgazamutse, bujya mw ijuru
(This body that was weak)
(Is what we bury in the ground;)
(But life alone)
(Will ascend, going to heaven)
Ubu bugingo n’ uyu mubiri
Iherezo, bizasubirana,
Bihabw’ ishusho ya Yesu;
Ntibizatandukan’ ukundi
(This life and this body)
(Finally, will reunite,)
(Given the image of Jesus;)
(They will never separate again)
Mbeg’ umunezero mwinshi cyane !
Koko, mw izuka, tuzishima pe !
Ni hw imva zose zo mw isi
Zizashiramw abapfu bazo
(What great joy indeed!)
(Truly, in the resurrection, how we'll rejoice!)
(For all the tombs on earth)
(Will release their dead)
Maz’ ababyeyi n’ abana babo
N’ abavandimwe batandukanye
N’abishwe n’urukumbuzi
Bazabonanira mw ijuru
(Then parents and their children)
(And siblings who were separated)
(And those crushed by grief)
(Shall meet again in heaven)
Bazabanayo mu bgami bgawe;
Bazaba batagitandukana
Kubg’umusaraba wawe,
Uzadusohozeyo natwe
(They will dwell in Your kingdom;)
(They will never be separated again)
(Because of Your cross,)
(Which will bring us through as well)
