Jy’ ubiba ku manywa n’ ikigoroba

Rindira ko zera, . baze basarure,

Tuzatund’ imiba, tunezerewe

(Sow in the morning seeds of goodness;)

(Continue sowing at noon and evening)

(Wait for them to grow, let them come to harvest,)

Bib’ izuba riva; biba mu kibunda:

Ntugatiny’ ibihu n’ imbeho nyinshi

Amasarura n’ imirimo bishize,

Tuzatund’ imiba, tunezerewe

(Sow when the sun rises; sow in the heat:)

(Do not fear the clouds and heavy cold)

(The harvest and the work are finished,)

(We will gather the sheaves, rejoicing)

Tugende turira, tubibir’ Umwami:

Niba tubabazwa n’ abarimbuka,

Tuzahozwa n’ aza, dushir’ agahinda:

Ni dutund’ imibaa tuzanezerwa !

(Let us go weeping, sowing for the Lord:)

(If we are grieved for the perishing,)

(We will be comforted by those who come, ending our sorrow:)
