Igitabo cy’ Imana,

Ndagikunda, n’ icyanjye:

Ni cyo kimbwir’ ukuri,

Yuko nd’ umunyabyaha

(The book of God,)

(I love it, it is mine:)

(It is what tells me the truth,)

(That I am a sinner)

Kinyigish’ urukundo

Rw’ Umucunguzi wanjye:

Iyo nyoby’ inzira ye,

Vuba kirantarura

(It teaches me the love)

(Of my Redeemer:)

(When I stray from His path,)

(Quickly it corrects me)

Iyo ntewe n’ ibyago,

Kimar’ umubabaro;

Nigishwa na cyo yuko

Nd’ umusuhuke mw isi

(When I face troubles,)

(It removes my sorrow;)

(I am taught by it that)

(I am a pilgrim on earth)

Igitabo cy’ Imana

Kimbwira yuk’ umuntu

Azanesha n’ urupfu,

Yizey’ Umucunguzi

(The book of God)

(Tells me that a person)

(Will conquer even death,)

(If they trust the Redeemer)

Kimbwira k’ utihana,

Agapfan’ ibyaha bye,

Azarimbuka koko,

Ntabane n’ Uwiteka

(It tells me that one who does not repent,)

(Dying with their sins,)

(Will surely perish,)

(Not living with the LORD)

Kandi nigishwa na cyo

Kw’ abakunzi ba Yesu

Bazahabw’ ibyishimo

Bitazashir’ iteka

(And I am taught by it)

(That lovers of Jesus)

(Will be given joy)

(That will never end forever)

Gihora kinyigisha

Amagamb’ ahebuje:

Ndagikundir’ ukuri

(The book of God)

(Constantly teaches me)
