Haleluya ! Haj’ umunsi
Wo kuruhukir’ Imana,
Uyu munsi ni w’ urusha
Iyindi yos’ amahoro
Iteka, twumv’ ibyishimo
Biva ku Mana yacu
(Hallelujah! Here is the day)
(Of resting in God,)
(This day surpasses)
(All others in peace)
(Forever, we receive joys)
(Coming from our God)
Uburuhukiro bwiza
Bubaho mur’ uyu munsi
Umucyo w’ Imana yera
Ub’ uratumurikiye
Ni w’ utweza mu mitima
Ku munsi w’ Uwiteka
(Beautiful rest)
(Exists on this day)
(The light of the holy God)
(It gives us light)
(It cleanses our hearts)
(On the day of the Lord)
Mbega, nambar’ iki none,
Mbone kwizihiz’ Imana ?
Dor’ umwambaro yampaye
N’ ugukiranuka kwayo,
Kugira ng’umubi nkanjye
Nerekan’ ubwiza bwe
(Indeed, what shall I wear now,)
(To be worthy before God?)
(Behold the garment He gave me)
(And His mercy,)
(So that a sinner like me)
(May show His beauty)
We yamviriy’ amaraso,
Kuko ngir’ ibicumuro;
Gukiranuka kwe ni ko
Kwez’ uyu mutima wanjye
Ibyo n’ umwambaro wanjye
Ukwiriy’ icyumweru
(He covered me with blood,)
(Because I have stains;)
(His mercy is what)
(Cleanses this heart of mine)
(That is my garment)
(Fitting for the Sabbath)
