Mana Data wo mw ijuru,

Washyingiriye Adamu

Na Haw’ i Paradiso,

Umaze kubateranya,

Ubaha n’ umugish’ uti:

Mub’ amahoro masa

Muzabyare, —Muzaheke,

Muzagwire, —Mwuzuz’ isi,

Muyitegeke n’ ibyayo

(God the Father in heaven,)

(You married Adam)

(And Eve in Paradise,)

(After uniting them,)

(You blessed them saying:)

(Live in peace together)

(You shall bear children, —You shall multiply,)

(You shall grow, —Fill the earth,)

(Govern it and all it contains)

Mujye mwitegeka neza,

Mufashanye, mukundane,

Murengerane mwembi

Mw ihirwe no mu makuba

Mu bworo no mu bukire,

Muzahimbaz’ Imana

Mana Data, —Ubarinde,

Ngo bagume—Kuri Wowe,

Mwami, jy’ ubiyegereza

(Live governing well,)

(Help each other, love one another,)

(Support each other both)

(In blessing and in trials)

(In poverty and in wealth,)

(You shall praise God)

(God the Father, —Protect them,)

(That they may remain—With You,)

(Lord, You who test them)

Nuk’ Umucunguzi wanyu

Azabakomez’ iteka,

Arind’ urugo rwanyu,

Abageze—Mw ijur’ i We,

Ngo mutahe—Na bwa bukwe

Bw’ Umwana w’ intama, Yesu
