Wa mutima wanjye we, shim’ Uwiteka !
Mwa bindimo byose mwe, mushime !
Njye mpimbaz’ izina rye, ne kwibagirwa
Iby’ Imana yankoreye byose
Imbabarir’ ibyaha nakoze byose
Ni Y’ inkiz’ indwara zamugaje
Inyambik’ imbabazi zayo nk’ ikamba,
Ikampaz’ ibyiza bidashira
(My heart, praise the Lord!)
(All that is within me, praise Him!)
(I will praise His name, and not forget)
(All that God has done for me)
(He forgives all the sins I have committed)
(He is the One who heals severe diseases)
(He crowns me with His mercies like a crown,)
(He satisfies me with everlasting good things)
Ijy’ ikor’ ibyo gukiranuka gusa,
N’ abarenganyw’ ikabarengera
Ic’ imanza ziboneye zitabera,
Kand’ igir’ imbabazi n’ ibambe
Imenyesh’ abayubah’ inzirazayo
Uwitek’ atinda kurakara;
Umujinya ntiyawuguman’ iteka
Akunda kugirira nez’ abe
(He does only what is compassionate,)
(And He protects the oppressed)
(He judges righteous cases fairly,)
(And He has mercy and patience)
(He shows those who fear His ways)
(The Lord is slow to anger;)
(He does not hold grudges forever)
(He loves to do good to His own)
Uwiteka ntiyatwituy’ ibihwanye
N’ ibicumuro twamucumuye,
Kandi nkukw ijuru rye ryitaruy’ isi
Ni kw imbabaz’ agira zingana
Ibuvazuba n’ iburengerazuba
Dor’ uko hitaruye kure pe
Ni ko yajyanye n’ ibicumuro byacu
Kure yacu. Turamuhimbaza !
(The Lord does not repay us according)
(To the transgressions we have offended Him with,)
(And as His heaven is far from the earth)
(So great is the mercy He has)
(From east to west)
(See how far it is)
(So He has removed our transgressions)
(Far from us. We praise Him!)
Nkuko se w’ aban’ abagirir’ ibambe,
Ni kw Imana yac’ irigirira Abantu bayubaha,
kukw izi nezaUbukene bwacu n’ intege nke
Iz’ ubugingo bgacu ko butarama;
Buhwanye n’ ubwatsi bushiraho
Ntibutinda; si nka za mbabazi zayo,
Zo ntizizashir’ iteka ryose
(As a father has compassion on his children,)
(So God has compassion on people who fear Him,)
(for He knows our weakness and little strength)
(He knows that our life does not last;)
(It is like grass that withers)
(It does not endure; not like His mercies,)
(Which will never end for all eternity)
Uwitonder’ isezerano ry’ Imana,
Ni ryo ryakomejwe n’ amaraso
Ayo Yes’ Umwana w’ Intama yavuye,
Kand’ akumvir’ ibyo yategetse,
Ni w’ ugirirwa neza n’ Iman’ iteka,
Non’ akiri mw isi no mw ijuru,
Iman’ izamwerek’ imbabazi zayo
N’ umurava no gukiranuka
(Whoever keeps the covenant of God,)
(Which was confirmed by the blood)
(That Jesus the Lamb shed,)
(And obeys what He commanded,)
(Will be treated well by God forever,)
(Now while still on earth and in heaven,)
(God will show them His mercies)
(And compassion and kindness)
