Yesu ndakwitabye, —Ntakwiriye:

Imbabazi zawe—Zirantinyuye

Mfit’ ibicumuro—Byuzuye muri jye;

Niringiye gusa—Ko wamfiriye

(Jesus I trust in You, —I am not worthy:)

(Your mercies—Satisfy me)

(I have sins—That fill me;)

(I only depend—That You died for me)

Ibyo nacumuye—Ndabyihannye

Kand’ uko ndi kose—Simbiguhishe

Nuk’ unyuhagize—Amaraso yawe,

Nyogemo, ntungane, —Ico rimvemo

(What I have sinned—I confess it)

(And as I am—I do not hide it from You)

(So cleanse me—With Your blood,)

(Wash me, purify me, —Make me whole)

Mwami, mbabarira; —Ndakwizeye

Nkwikubis’ imbere; —Ndakwiringiye

Amaraso yawe—Y’ Umwana w’ intama

Anyoz’ antembeho, —Anyeze dede !

(Lord, forgive me; —I trust You)

(I bow before You; —I depend on You)

(Your blood—Of the Lamb)

(Wash me and make me clean, —Satisfy me indeed!)

Nuko, ndanezerwa; —Mb’ amahoro;

Njyana n’ Uwo nkunda, —Ntaramubona;

Itek’ uko ntewe—N’ iby’ isi n’ ibyaha

Negamira Yesu, — Bikanesheka

(Thus, I am joyful; —I have peace;)

(I go with the One I love, —Though I have not seen Him;)

(Forever I am not tempted—By worldly things and sins)

(I lean on Jesus, —And they are defeated)
