Menyesh’ icyakwemeje

Wa Musaraba kera !

Ni kubgawe, mwana,

Nemeye gutukwa

No guhemurwa ntyo,

Nzir’ ibyaha byawe

(Have mercy and compassion,)

(Let me understand what made You agree)

(To that Cross long ago!)

(And to be despised so,)
