Utari womorwa,

Ikiganza cyatobowe

Ni cyo cyawomora

(A heart that is hardened,)

(That was not broken,)

(A hand that was pierced)

(Is what broke it)

iy’ umutim’ uremerewe,

Hatemb’ amarira,

Har’ umutim’ umwe musa

Wawuhumuriza

(That heart that is burdened,)

(Where tears fall,)

(There is one heart like it)

(That comforted it)

Umuns iy’ ababajwe cyane

N’ icyaha yakoze,

Isok’ imwe y’ amaraso

Yamwoz’ akera de !

(One who is greatly troubled)

(By the sin they committed,)

(One drop of blood)

(Washed them and made them clean!)
