Yesu n’ ubugingo bgacu;

Aduh’ amahoro ye

Ni We rembo twinjiramo,

Tukagera kwa Data,

Iyo tubuz’ amahoro,

Tuba tumuvuyeho

Tumwizere, ni we Nshuti;

Twe kubur’ amahoro !

(Jesus is our life;)

(He gives us His peace)

(He is the door we enter through,)

(That we may reach the Father,)

(When we ask for peace,)

(We find it in Him)

(Let us trust Him, He is our Friend;)

(We should ask for peace!)

N’ ukutiban’ ibyaha,

Bikaguma mu mutima,

Bikazinur’ Umwuka

Yemw’ abifuz’ ubugingo,

Mwe kuguma mu byaha

Yesu yaradupfiriye:

Nta cyatuma dukonja !

(For what brings coldness)

(And clinging to sins,)

(Remaining in the heart,)

(Extinguishing the Spirit)

(You who desire life,)

(You who remain in sins)

(Jesus already died for us:)

(There is no reason to be cold!)

Ni dutungurwa n’ iby’ isi,

Tukabeshywa n’ Umubi

Yuko twigirir’ umwete,

Tukang’ Umusaraba,

Twang’ iyo nzira — s’ iyacu

Tuzagenda nka Yesu,

Yambitsw’ ikamba ry’ amahwa,

Yemey’ Umusaraba

(We are deceived by worldly things,)

(We are misled by the Evil One)

(That we should arm ourselves with faith,)

(That we should carry the Cross,)

(We carry that way—not our own)

(We will walk like Jesus,)

(Clothed in the crown of thorns,)

(He accepted the Cross)

Tuyigendemo nka Yesu,

Wemey’ Umusaraba

Tuzi ko yisiz’ ubusa,

Nta n’ icyo yisigiye,

Kandi nta n’ icyah’ afite:

Ni twe yaj’ acungura

(In this world, it is not our home;)

(We are just passing through it)

(We walk through it like Jesus,)

(Who accepted the Cross)

(We know that He left in vain,)

(He left nothing behind,)

(And He has nothing more:)

(He came to save us)

Ni We no kunesha kwacu:

Turabimushimiye

(To take one step forward)

(Stand by the Cross;)

(Let go of what is behind,)

(Fear what is ahead)

(Jesus Himself is the One ahead)

(He is the One who leads us;)

(He is also our reward:)

(We are grateful to Him)

None abatagira Yesu

Bazajya bananirwa:

Umubiri ntabwo uneshwa;

Ntunezez’ uwiteka

(For those who first give themselves to Jesus,)

(The way is difficult)

(But it is covered in blood;)

(It is the one He went before us on)

(Now those who do not have Jesus)

(Will go along suffering:)

(The flesh is not pleased;)

(It does not please the Lord)

(To accept the cross,)

(The blood becomes new)

(For those who love to obey Him)

(In troubles and in good times,)

(We will walk with Him)

(He will not leave us)
