Ngwino, mutima wanjye,

Witab’ Umwami wawe !

Winjir’ umuhakweho,

kukw akund’ abaz’ i We

(Come, my heart,)

(Honor your Lord!)

(Enter into His sanctuary,)

(For He loves those who are His)

Kw ar’ Umwami ukomeye,

Wamusaba bike, se?

Ubushobozi n’ ubge,

N’ ubuntu n’ imbabazi

(For He is the mighty Lord,)

(Would you ask Him for little?)

(His power and His riches,)

(And His kindness and mercy)

Mbanze nsab’ imbabazi,

Kuko nakugomeye

Umutwaro w’ ibyaha,

Dor’ ubury’ undembeje !

(First let me ask for mercy,)

(Because I offended You)

(The burden of sins,)

(Look, the evil has oppressed me!)

Amaraso wavuye,

Uri ku musaraba,

Yoz’ abakiranirwa,

Nukw anyoz’ amboneze

(The blood You shed,)

(While on the cross,)

(Washes the penitent,)

(So wash me and give me peace)

Unduhure nonaha,

Ndakwihay’ unturemo!

Wanshunguj’ amaraso,

Nukw unyitegekere!

(Satisfy me now,)

(I give myself to You, keep me!)

(Wash me with the blood,)

(And then guide me!)

Mu rugendo rw’ iyi si,

Mb’ intumwa ya Kristo

Ahw ashak’ antumeyo,

Nkuz’ izina rya Yesu !

(In the journey of this world,)

(May I be an apostle of Christ)

(Wherever He wants to send me,)

(To proclaim the name of Jesus!)
