War’ igihome cyabo n’ urutare,
War’ umugaba wabo ku rugamba,
N’ izuba ryabo ryo mu mwijima
Mwami wacu Yesu, tugushime cyane !
(You were their strength and their rock,)
(You were their captain in battle,)
(And their sun in the darkness)
