Ijwi ryumviswe n’ abantu
Ribatunguye, riti:
Shimwa, Mana: kuzwa mw isi
Amahor’ abe bose!
Mbes’ izo ndirimbo twumva
Zitangaza n’ iza he ?
Bungeri, n’ abamalayika
Bababgir’ Ubutumwa
(A voice was heard by people)
(That amazed them, saying:)
(Glory to God: from the earth)
(May there be peace to all!)
(Where do those songs we hear)
(That announce come from?)
(Shepherds, and angels)
(Brought them the message)
Uw’ iyi si yatabaje
Kuko yagwij’ ibyago,
Kuv’ igihe yikoreye
Umutwaro w’ ibyaha,
Umukiza wahanuwe
Wadusezeranijwe,
Uwiringirwa byukuri
Non’ aratuvukiye
(The world was troubled)
(Because it fell into dangers,)
(From the time it made for itself)
(A burden of sins,)
(The Savior who was promised)
(Who was pledged to us,)
(Who was truly awaited)
(Now is born for us)
Shimwa, Mana ! Kuzwa mw isi !
Amahor’ abe hose !
Urukundo n’ amahoro
Biraduhishuriwe
Hamwe n’ intumwa z’ Imana,
Twese turangurure,
Dushime no gushimisha
Impano y’ Umukiza
(Glory to God! From the earth!)
(May there be peace everywhere!)
(Love and peace)
(Are revealed to us)
(Together with the messengers of God,)
(Let us all proclaim,)
(Praise and give thanks)
(For the gift of the Savior)
