Uyu mwaka wose,

Ngo mbone kub’ uwa we

Mu bibaho byose

Sinasaba kw ibyago

Mbikurwaho byose;

Icyo ngusabye n’ uko

Nzajya ngushimisha

(I give You, Holy Father,)

(This whole year,)

(That I may see it as Yours)

(In all that happens)

(I do not ask for dangers)

(To be removed from me entirely;)

(What I ask of You is that)

(I may always praise You)

Nyamara se ntamwima

Ibyiza by’ ukuri

Nawe, Man’ iby’ uduha

Biradukwiriye:

Birut’ ibyo twibwira

N’ ibyo twisabira

(Now, who is the child)

(Who gets everything they wish?)

(Yet a father does not withhold)

(The true good things)

(You too, Lord, what You give us)

Uburyo yihanganye,

Ubgo yamfiraga
