Yesu yageze mu Rwanda,
N’ i Burund’ agerayo;
Yigerey’ i Tanganyika
N’ i Bugande n’ i Kongo
Yadukuye mu bugoryi
No mu mwijima mwinshi;
Tumuberey’ umuryango:
Tumusingize cyane !
(Jesus came to Rwanda,)
(And reached Burundi too;)
(He reached Tanganyika)
(And Buganda and Congo)
(He rescued us from slavery)
(And from great darkness;)
(Let us build Him a church:)
(Let us praise Him greatly!)
Imana yishimye cyane
Kubon’ ibyo yaremye;
Byari biboneye byose,
