Abakund’ iby’ isi—-Ntabgo babihaga;

Ba sogokuruza—-Na bo ntibahaze

(Those who love worldly things—Will surely not satisfy them;)

(Their ancestors—Were not satisfied either)

2.

Abanga kwihana—-Muratubabaza

Ko tubaburira, —-Mukizib’ amatwi !

(Those who refuse to sacrifice—You are troubling us)

(When we warn you,—You close your ears!)

Ibi bibashuka, —-Nta kizarokoka,

Kerets’ abihannye, —-Yes’ akabakiza

(These things will perish,—Nothing will be spared,)

(Except those who repented,—Jesus will save them)

4.

Iyi s’ izashira—-N’ ibirimo byose ;

Inka n’ imirima—-N’ intoke n’ inzoga

(This world will pass away—And everything in it;)

(Cattle and fields—And tobacco and alcohol)

Nta kizasigara: —-Bizab’ umuyonga

Ubw’ is’ izashira, —-Muzasigara he ?

(Nothing will remain:—It will be ashes)

(When the world passes away,—Where will you remain?)

Twebw’ abakijijwe—-Turanezerewe

Guca mur’ iyi si, —-Dufit’ amahoro

(We who are saved—We are blessed)

(To die in this world,—We have peace)

Mwami wacu Yesu, —-Turagushimira

Ko wadupfiriye, —-Ntituzarimbuke

(Our Lord Jesus,—We thank You)

(For dying for us,—We will not perish)
