Ibihe nsenga Uwiteka

Bintarura mu mpagarara,

Ngo nigira aho Data ari,

Muganyir’ ibyo nkennye byose

(The times I pray to the Lord)

(Deliver me from distress,)

(That I may go where the Father is,)

(Make all my wants and wishes known)

2.

Mu bihe by’ umubabaro,

Bimpumuriza umutima

Nsinda ubukana bw' umwanzi,

Mu bihe byiza byo gusenga

(In seasons of distress and grief)

(My soul has often found relief)

(And oft escaped the tempter's snare)

(By returning, sweet hour of prayer)

Ibihe nsenga Uwiteka

Binyemeza yuko asubiza

Ategereje abana be,

Ngo bamusange abakenure

Ndamwihereje rwose ubu

Kuko yampamagaye ubge

Niringiye bwa buntu bwe:

Nogeza ibihe byo gusenga

(The times I pray to Lord, my King)

(Assures He hears the prayers I bring)

(For His children, he's waiting now)

(so He may bless as He knows how)

(I give myself to Him right now)

(And since He called me, him to bow)

(I believe and trust in His grace)

(and increase those sweet times of prayer)

Guhora nsenga Uwiteka

Kujye kumara umubabaro,

kugeza aho nzagera i We,

Mwirebere ngeze mu ijuru

Niyambuye umubiri upfa,

Nambaye kudapfa iteka;

Ubwo ni bwo nzasezera

Ku bihe byiza byo gusenga

(Continuing to pray to God)

(Will be the end of my sorrow)

(Until the time I reach His place)

(Myself, in heaven, to see his face)

(When I leave this body of death)

(And put on his eternal life)

(Is when I get to say goodbye)

(To the so dear sweet hours of prayer)
