Kera har’ umubibyi(Long ago there was a sower)

Wasohoy’ imbuto;(Who sowed seeds;)

Zimarwa n’ inyoni,(They were eaten by birds,)

izindi ku rutare,(Others on rocky ground,)

Zumishwa n’ izuba,(They withered in the sun,)

Kuko zari zibuze(Because they lacked)

Ahantu horoshye(Good soil)

Mu mahwa hagw’ izindi,(Among thorns there were others,)

Zikurana na yo;(They competed with them;)

Nukw aziniga zose,(And they choked them all,)

Ntizera na gato(They bore no fruit at all)

Izindi mbuto zigwa(Other seeds fell)

Mu butaka bgiza;(In good soil;)

Zimeze, zirakura,(They sprouted, they grew,)

Zer’ imbuto nyinshi(They bore much seed)

Har’ umubibyi wundi,(There is another sower,)

Ni Yesu Krisito(It is Jesus Christ)

Ijambo ry’ agakiza(The word of salvation)

Ni ryo mbut’ abiba,(Is the seed He sows,)

Kand’ imitima yacu(And our hearts)

Ni na yo mbibe ye,(Are His field,)

Ari mib’ ari myiza,(Whether bad or good,)

Amishamw imbuto(He scatters the seed)

Ku mutwe n’ ibiganza(On His head and hands)

No ku birenge bye,(And on His feet,)

Hatonyang’ amaraso(Blood dripped)

Akibib’ imbuto;(As He sowed the seed;)
