Kera har’ umubibyi

Wasohoy’ imbuto;

Zimwe zigwa. ku nzira,

Zimarwa n’ inyoni,

izindi ku rutare,

Zumishwa n’ izuba,

Kuko zari zibuze

Ahantu horoshye

(Long ago there was a sower)

(Who sowed seeds;)

(Some fell on the path,)

(They were eaten by birds,)

(Others on rocky ground,)

(They withered in the sun,)

(Because they lacked)

(Good soil)

Mu mahwa hagw’ izindi,

Zikurana na yo;

Nukw aziniga zose,

Ntizera na gato

Izindi mbuto zigwa

Mu butaka bgiza;

Zimeze, zirakura,

Zer’ imbuto nyinshi

(Among thorns there were others,)

(They competed with them;)

(And they choked them all,)

(They bore no fruit at all)

(Other seeds fell)

(In good soil;)

(They sprouted, they grew,)

(They bore much seed)

Har’ umubibyi wundi,

Ni Yesu Krisito

Ijambo ry’ agakiza

Ni ryo mbut’ abiba,

Kand’ imitima yacu

Ni na yo mbibe ye,

Ari mib’ ari myiza,

(There is another sower,)

(Are His field,)

(Whether bad or good,)
